ST JEROME PROJECT
The school Library project by the lampkin family
SSTS
How it started by Andrew Lampkin:
For my confirmation project, I wanted to do something that would have a lasting impact on my community. My Uncle Barry suggested I meet the principal at St. Thomas More (STM) Academy in Washington, DC. STM is a pre-k to 8th grade school and many of the kids at this school don't have books at home. Principal Smith said the school could use my help filling the school library with books. With the help of the school, I built a list of books with kids that look like the kids at STM; the classics; and books kids love to read! Today STM has a brand new library full of thousands of books.
There are many schools like STM in need of a school library. Our family began the St Jerome Project (the patron saint of libraries) to continue building school libraries. Now my brothers have joined the effort and we are working on a library at St Francis Xavier Academy also in Washington, DC.
We really need your help. Here are a number of ways you can help us build a library.
Thank you, Marc, Andrew and James Lampkin
